Stop the Stoppage

Again this year the autumn weather has been reasonably mild, which brings forth, once again, the question of why the city of Montreal closes down the bike lanes/paths on the 15th of November.

Corner of Brebeuf and Gilford

It seems particularly short-sighted to close the north/south axis between Park Laurier and downtown, which is one of the busiest in the city. Especially considering that the Plateau-Mont Royal borough has gone to great lengths in creating the Laurier bike lanes between St. Laurent and Brebeuf specifically to link up with the north/south axis.

If one is to take the signage at its word, then the Laurier lanes will be open to cyclists year round.

A voir!
